Hearing Associates recently donated funds to help educate children through our Hear for Our Community program
A portion of all hearing aid sales and $20 for every free screening completed in April to was donated to The Learning Center in Charles City. “Our goal is to offer a quality environment with learning opportunities for children 6 weeks through 5th grade that fosters the development of the whole child: intellectually, physically and socially/ emotionally.”
The Hear for Our Community campaign routinely donates a portion of Hearing Associates’ proceeds to a chosen organization that benefits the local community. Dr. Jeff King, an audiologist who practices at the Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City, Iowa, presented the check for $2,025 to TLC officials.
Established in 2001, TLC is a community-based childcare facility in Charles City that provides a safe, educational environment for children six weeks old through fifth grade. Some of the donated money will be used for new TracFones to be used with emergency backpacks on the playgrounds at TLC. Another portion of the money will go toward public transportation costs for field trips when it’s too hot for the children to play outside or walk to the museum or library.
“The longer that we have those kind of monies, it just means we can go out that much farther with what we can offer,” said Pam Ost, TLC director. “It’s that circle. These little ones are impacted by those other populations that need hearing capabilities. You’re furnishing that and you’re giving back to the little ones.”
