Stuart Trembath

Owner and Audiologist M.A., CCC-A

Why Audiology: Stuart has always been interested in sound perception. He took several audiology hearing science courses that encouraged him to pursue a career in audiology. 

Organizations: Stuart is currently the American Speech-Language and Hearing (ASHA) representative to the American Medical Association’s Editorial panel for Common Procedural Terminology (CPT). He is a co-chair for ASHA’s Healthcare Economics Committee. He previously served as president of the Iowa Speech-Language-Hearing Association, president of the Iowa Speech-Language-Hearing Foundation and chairman of Clear Lake Parks & Recreation Board.

Current residence: Clear Lake, Iowa 

Education: Bachelor of Arts in Speech and Hearing Science and Psychology from Michigan State University and a Master’s degree in Audiology from Northwestern University. 

Hobbies and interests: Reading, traveling and spending time with family. 

Family: Wife, Leigh, and children, Lauren and Hannah. 

Pets: Dogs, Eva Lou and Oscar.

Tanya Harper Rowe

Audiologist Au.D., CCC-A

Why Audiology: Tanya wanted to work in healthcare and took classes in audiology, pharmacy and pre-med. She spent a summer job shadowing with a local pharmacist and at Hearing Associates. Tanya was impressed with how passionate the team was about helping patients with hearing loss. As an audiologist, she can diagnose ear and hearing problems and improve patient hearing and communication abilities.

Current residence: Mason City, Iowa 

Education: Bachelor of Arts in Audiology from the University of Iowa, Master’s in Audiology from Northwestern University and a doctorate from A.T. Still University. 

Hobbies and Interests: Spending time with family, traveling, gardening, scrapbooking and attending her sons’ activities. 

Family: Husband, John, and children, Jared, Jordan and Justin.

Rachael Dolezal

Why Audiology: Rachael has always liked working with kids and wanted to help children with hearing loss as a speech pathologist. However, after studying audiology, she realized she enjoyed the science of hearing and the technology of hearing aids and became an audiologist.

Current residence: Mason City, Iowa 

Education: Bachelor of Arts in Speech and Hearing Science and Psychology from the University of Iowa and a Master’s in Audiology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. 

Hobbies and Interests: Reading, embroidery, knitting, sewing and spending time with family.

Christine Heintskill

Audiologist Au.D., CCC-A

Why Audiology: Christine discovered audiology while studying speech-language pathology. After shadowing an audiologist during a clinical placement, she realized she had a strong passion for audiology. Afterward, she decided she would continue her education in audiology instead of speech-language pathology. 

Born: Saginaw, Michigan 

Raised: Bay City, Michigan 

Current residence: Mason City, Iowa 

Education: Bachelor of Applied Arts in Communication Disorders and a Doctorate of Audiology from Central Michigan University.  

Hobbies and Interests: Spending time with friends, family and pets, hiking, camping and sewing.  

Pets: Two dogs, Oscar and Hunny.

Carmen Wickering

Hearing Instrument Specialist

Why Audiology: After teaching preschool for ten years, Carmen decided to follow her passion for helping others. Her interest in psychology inspired her to obtain her second degree and pursue a career in social work before making her way to Hearing Associates. She enjoys working with people of all ages and seeing how their lives are forever changed by hearing aids.

Why Audiology: Alex has never felt more in line with his passion and purpose than when hes helping patients and leading staff at Hearing Associates. With a background in counseling and technology, he thrives on creating solutions that help achieve better communication for our patients.

Education: Bachelor of Science in Psychology with an emphasis in counseling from Iowa State University. 

Hobbies and Interests: Spending time with family and friends, traveling, watching movies, singing in the River City Men’s Chorus, horseback riding, volunteer in, and watching the Iowa State Cyclones play.

Why Audiology: Tanner has always been interested in working in the healthcare industry. Hearing lifechanging stories from patients about how Hearing Associates has helped them manage their hearing loss is very rewarding. Having great conversations and getting to know patients on a firstname basis keeps him coming back to work every day and helps him become a better patient advocate.

Education: 2004 Mason City, Iowa graduate with 18 years of customer relationship experience.

Why Audiology: Heather enjoyworking with patients on their journey to better hearing health by helping them understand the ever-changing world of insurance coverage and benefits. The most rewarding part of her job is helping patients obtain hearing devices through insurance coverage.

Why Audiology: Being a part of someone’s hearing health journey and witnessing the joy on their face is Katelin’s favorite part of her job. Why Audiology: Brittany loves working at Hearing Associates because the atmosphere is fun and happy. One of her favorite things about her job is witnessing patients come in with a problem and leave hearing better than ever before. The patients are what keep Brittany coming back every day because she enjoys their company. Those brief moments checking in at the front desk and waiting in the lobby help her get to know them.

Why Audiology: Nichole enjoys working at Hearing Associates because she gets to see so many lives change daily. From the initial appointment to improvements in communication, seeing the difference in patients is wonderful to witness. There are many advantages to hearing better, and seeing the audiologists help patients every day is one of Nichole’s favorite things about her job.

Why Audiology: Corinne loves working at Hearing Associates and has worked in the healthcare industry for almost 20 years. Every patient is as important to her as her closest family member when it comes to their hearing health and quality of life. 

Born: Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Raised: Albert Lea, Minnesota

Current residence: Albert Lea, Minnesota

Education: Albert Lea, Minnesota graduate with 38 years of customer service/administrative experience.

Hobbies and Interests: Entertaining and spending time with family, friends and granddaughters. Walking, watching sports and movies and listening to a variety of music. She is a Co-Chairperson for two non-profits here in Freeborn County. The first is Jack Frost Closet, which  provides winter outerwear for families in need, and the second is the Memory Café, which supports people with Alzheimer’s and their families.

Family: Husband, Todd, son, Todd-Curtis, and daughter, Taryon.

Pets: Spike.
